Last night’s sail was hard yakka and I was grateful that social media kept me awake to 6 am and the end of my watch. I don’t think my bed has ever looked soooo good… Capt G was most amused and even snuck down to snap a photo of Zeus keeping an eye on me. Continue reading

It’s been a long day’s night
And I should sleeping like Zeus… I think the best night time traveller aboard Roo Bin Esque is Zeus the salty sea dog. It appears to be his mission to keep a close eye on who ever is sleeping and he takes that role very seriously 🙂 It involves snuggling as close as he can Continue reading
Day Three – Fitzroy to where?
Day Three Forecast – Wind 15 – 20 kts, south-easterly, seas 1.7 on a 1.5 metre swell. Actual – Wind 20 -25 kts, south-easterly, seas 1.7 on a 2 metre swell. Possible showers of rain. Wangi Wangi Library
I spent a relaxing morning wandering around Lake Macquarie, tootling down narrow streets and investigating numerous inlets and bays. What a pretty area! It’s another ‘best kept secret’! The lovely librarians at Edgeworth had recommended lunch at the Wangi Wangi pub and Brenda Telford joined me there along with Anne from the Wangi Wangi library. Continue reading
Bye bye Ballarat…
Sadly, my month of wandering the country chatting to readers has come to an end… The Get Reading tour has been the most amazing experience so far in my writing life. I’ve been fortunate to visit new places, familiar places and places which have been on my wish list for a long time. Yesterday morning Continue reading
Waurn Ponds – chilly outside, but warm inside!
I’m back on the road again! This time I’m in Victoria for a very quick visit. Thankfully Melbourne turned on the weather for me and I landed in 12 degrees and crystal clear blue skies. Gorgeous! Last night we headed to Waurn Ponds, half way between Geelong and Torquay. The drive down the highway was Continue reading

The Next Big Thing is a blog series that’s been revolving around the internet for the last couple of months. Continue reading
Australian Women Writers Challenge 2012
Talk about scraping home by the skin of my teeth! As 2012 draws to a close I thought I’d best post my completed list for the Australian Women Writers Challenge. I’m a little stunned that I found time to read so many. A very big thank you to Elizabeth Lheude for instigating this wonderful challenge. Continue reading
And so that was Christmas :)
The day started with a leisurely walk on Trinity Beach, a bath for Zeus and breakfast by the pool. That was all too much for Zeus who then needed a pensioners nap… GW sent up a protective mantle of sandalwood smoke to ward off the mozzies – particularly those with the stripy footie socks who Continue reading
What’s it to you?
What do you love most about this time of year? Is it the nightly thunderstorms that start as tiny buildups in the west and end as growling monsters, with the Norse god, Thor, throwing lightening bolts around the skies? Perhaps it’s the frenetic shopping? With my poorly developed shopping gene I can’t say I get Continue reading
