So my first week of being a full time writer passed in a blur and not one word of a new novel was typed! This could be trickier than I thought… Wednesday saw Capt G and I visiting Morisset Library on Lake Macquarie. The wonderful warm welcome made up for the chilly temperatures. The side Continue reading

Winds of Change
Have you had to face a challenge in your life that sent you hurtling in another direction? Today I’m visiting Teddyree at The Eclectic Reader. My life’s changed enormously in the last two years and there have been days when that change has been incredibly painful. But more change is afoot. Capt G and I Continue reading
The voice of a hero
After such a tough week I’m delighted to be spending some time with Jess at The Never Ending Bookshelf blog. Today I’ll introduce you to the voice of Conor, the hero in NORTHERN HEAT. I had a lot of fun listening to the audition tapes when the Trailermade Production Team sent them through. Making a Continue reading

Safe Harbour
Dux anchorage on the western side of South Stradbroke Island has proven to be a wonderful safe harbour for us for the last two nights. Holidays!
We had to wait for the tide this morning, but it was worth it. Despite the gods of wind messing with us we made it under sail over to Moreton Island. Along the way we hoisted the Gennaker, played with a Navy Patrol Boat, saw dolphins, turtles and dugongs and tried out the new kayak. Continue reading
Banksia Cove
Were you a devoted but trembling reader of Snuggle Pot and Cuddlepie’s stories? I’m not too proud to admit I used to hide my eyes when the Banskia Men appeared… I loved the ripple of alarm down my spine at the mere mention of their spikey black faces. At our family beach shack at Currumbin Continue reading
Well howdy, landlubbers
Ahoy me hearties, it’s me Zeus, the Salty Old Sea Dog. Capt G and Helene are snoring their heads off after a hectic couple of days. I have no idea why they find night sailing at all tiring or stressful. I thought it was pretty darned cool talking to the US Navy ships last night. Continue reading
