So I finished the first draft of Beyond the Borders and thought I’d get a moment to celebrate and reflect, instead my body has decided it needs a head cold to to remind it how good life can be… Am now sitting in my hotel room in Sydney, trying to remember what I forgot to Continue reading

You can survive a ditching in a commuter jet.
Dominic James did a sterling job today ditching his Westwind jet off Norfolk Island. The ABC story at http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/11/19/2747466.htm makes interesting reading – though I’m amused at the file photo they managed to find. That he happens to be one of Cleo magazine’s top 50 eligible bachelors is academic – unless you’re a single babe on a manhunt…. Continue reading
Hamster fetish? Give me a spa room any day…
I can understand people treating their pets like children (Zeus the wonder Staffie is definitely NOT a dog…) but treating myself like my pet maybe going just a tad too far for me – especially if that pet’s a hamster. Check out this ABC story: http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/11/17/2745682.htm Apparently people are paying good money to be treated Continue reading
Border Watch – What a beautiful cover!
It’s official! And I am so excited. (Can you tell??) I think the designer has captured the feel of the waters around Northern Queensland perfectly. Morgan is suitably reserved, but feisty and the colours are gorgeous. I couldn’t be happier. I’d love to hear what you think about it!
Eden found
Standing in a queue to board a flight in Sydney recently, I was telling a colleague I needed to find a beautiful, serene spot near Cairns for my husband’s birthday. She suggested Eden House in Yungaburra. A gentleman in line behind us added his opinion and I was sold. Have just come back from the Continue reading

Bronwyn’s second book, Dark Continue reading
Love those early mornings
If there’s one thing I miss most when I’m away from home (apart from husband and hound) it’s an early morning walk on the beach. The serenity of the ocean, laying the first footprints down the sand, watching the sun crack the horizon wide open with orange fire – each day is different, each sunrise Continue reading
Spring time and Jacarandas
Springtime in Brisbane and the streets are lined in purple! When we lived in Bris I loved going to New Farm Park, with its graceful avenue of Jacarandas, having an ice-cream and strolling across the purple carpet. Had to take a photo of this one near the hotel I’m staying at… On our way to the Continue reading
Diplomacy or honesty?
I chuckled my way through this article over morning coffee. “Diplomacy not a strong suit for Britain’s ambassadors as they head home.” The Australian has a story on the valedictory letters sent home by retiring ambassadors. Oh, but I’d love to see some more of them!! I think the Brits are wonderful (I’m married to Continue reading
RWA Brisbane Conference
Whew! Have made it home to Cairns after a hectic weekend in Brisbane at the 2009 RWA conference. What a wonderful uplifting three days it’s been. As usual, the social whirl was exhausting, the training sessions were full of “light bulb” moments and the key note speaker, Mary Jo Putney, was inspiring.
