No flying foxes scattered across the sky while we had dinner and the Rainbow Bee-eaters who have been resident in our trees outside have vanished as well.

It is a vicious storm but no, we’re staying put, Cathy. If we left it could be days before we can get back to start the clean-up. Have a look at the Willis Island radar on the BOM – that’s a more accurate picture of its size and track. I hate to be a sceptic but I don’t think Cairns will get as much damage as they are predicting.
However better to be safe than sorry and have everyone prepared!

I saw on the news that they are saying Yasi will get to category five. Will you need to evacuate?
