Tomorrow I’m heading up the Gillies Range to the Yungaburra Book Fair. The historic village of Yungaburra perches on top of the Great Dividing Range with Tinaroo Dam at its back door. It’s a beautiful spot with some wonderful eclectic shops for browsing around and coffee shops serving delicious Tableland treats.
I’m chairing a panel at 11 am with international award winning author Barbara Hannay and debut author Elizabeth Martin. We’re all North Queensland writers who approach romance and relationships from three different angles so I’m looking forward to chatting with them tomorrow.
The Fair will be open from 10 am to 4 pm with stacks of different activities. So if you’re a book lover, reading tragic or just in need of a break from the early summer heat in Cairns head up the hill and check it out 🙂
Lucky You!
Sounds like a fun time with a fabulous backdrop!
Next time G mentions gardening, hide the shears.
Yum, Lake Barrine Scones 🙂 I’m eating raisin toast at Sydney airport as I type and I’d kill for some of those scones right now…
Aah, the memories. A stroll through the Yungaburra markets, buying a treasure here and there, lunch at Nicks or a drive over the green hills to Lake Barrine for tea and scones. Have fun, Helene, sounds like you’ll have a grand time.
Wish you lived in Townsville too, Karly, then I could have made it to your book launch 🙂
Oh I wish I still lived at Townsville so I could get up there!!!!! Have a great time Helene. Sounds great!
